Gus Remppies

Gus Remppies, president of Capital Square Housing Trust, has spent his entire career in the multifamily industry. Having been an executive officer of five public companies over the last 35 years, Remppies most recently served as president of Capital Square Living, Capital Square’s property management division. In that role, Gus led the creation and expansion of the firm’s fully integrated property management platform, supporting Capital Square’s investment strategy through operational excellence and resident-focused management.

Prior to Capital Square Living, Remppies served as an executive officer of five public companies, including executive vice president and chief investment officer of Cornerstone Realty Income Trust, an apartment REIT with a market capitalization of $1.5 billion. At Cornerstone, Remppies oversaw the acquisition and development of more than 30,000 units and helped lead the REIT through its successful public listing on the New York Stock Exchange.

Upon the sale of Cornerstone, Remppies immediately co-founded a new public nontraded REIT, Landmark Apartment Trust (formerly known as Grubb Ellis Apartment REIT), where he had responsibility and oversite of 700+ team members. Remppies has been responsible for the acquisition and financing of approximately 75,000 apartment units during his career.

Remppies earned his B.S. from the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond.
