Building the Future of Vibrant Communities
Looking forward thoughtfully, including the voices and ideas of people throughout our community, creates the best future for all of us. This is why we at Capital Square strive to partner with and support local small businesses, both within our mixed-use and retail properties as well as in the neighborhoods surrounding our assets around the country.
When the retail space in our “Scott’s Collection” mixed-use community in the Scott’s Addition neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia was fully leased recently, in many ways it was a final stage of this Capital Square development project. However, the full lease-up is also a celebration of the small businesses that make up this dynamic community.
The new retail occupants of Scott’s Collection include Lillian Oyster Hall, a raw bar restaurant; Parousia Coffee, a premium coffee roaster and café; and CoreFitness RVA, a boutique gym that offers one-on-one and small group personal training. Businesses like these are essential to the identity and experience of the communities where we live, work, play and invest. They are the heart of vibrant neighborhoods like Scott’s Addition, and we at Capital Square look forward to many more local, small business relationships ahead, both in our own Central Virginia backyard and within every market where we operate across the country.
We’ve been proud to lease space to other local businesses in Scott’s Addition as well – including Longoven and Grit Coffee – and we were honored to support “River City Shuck & Roll,” held at River City Roll and benefitting the Chesapeake Oyster Alliance. This event with local chefs’ tastings, oysters from Matheson Oyster Co. and multiple bands was an example of the Scott’s Addition neighborhood at its best.
Discovering the inherent personalities of different cities and neighborhoods enables our efforts to be even more impactful. This is not only how we build the future of real estate. This is how we build legacies for investors, team members and communities.
